Right on time, another forest fire!

It went from a few acres to almost 500 acres pretty much overnight and it’s about 25-30 miles to the north inside the Park. It’s also heading south towards the old growth Sequoia stand in the southern portion of Yosemite. So far the smoke is blowing SE away from me. From my many rides into the park I’ve seen way too many downed trees lining the forest floor adding kindling to any spark. And it would be nearly 100 degrees Fahrenheit…..

we in UK had a heat wave - records broken 40.3c (104 F) and guess what fires hundreds of them

day before 2 deg cooler - NONE !!

Oak Fire live update: Wildfire ‘moving fast,’ jumps road and now threatens structures

Now two Park entrances are closed and the new fire is close to the kissing rocks entrance I’ve shown before.

I had to go to the store about eight miles closer to the fire. Thankfully the wind let up so the smoke cloud is hovering over the fire. I still have ash and soot covering my driveway. This shot is about 25 miles from the fire. Here’s another vid showing a time lapse.
