Riding motorcycle without motorcycle endorcement?

It is your responsibilty to know the laws of the state of which you will be traveling in. Ignorance is no defense
sad.gif

Am I the only person that finds this hilarious. Notice the avitar thin blue line generally= law enforcement and his screen name is TOOL lmao!!!! He also would have you believe if you wanted to take your family on a vacation from Florida to Washington you need to know the laws of every state between the two. Wow

No, what is funny is your critique of a thread/member that's over 7 years old as your first post. Who is the tool here?
:welcome: to the party pal.....

Anyone knows the fine/law for riding with no license.Im not talking about a suspended license but lets say you are riding a bike on just a car license. Can they arrest you for that?

In Florida it's a criminal violation to ride w/o an endorsement, you could be arrested for it. The bond to get out of jail is $500. If you weren't stopped for doing something stupid you could get an appearance ticket with a court date.

Pursuant to Florida Statute 322.03(4) is a criminal second degree misdemeanor in Florida.

Fine up to $500
Up to 60 days in jail
Up to six months of probation

Florida has developed a bad attitude towards bikes. Some deservedly so. But if you get stopped in a *cough cough* safety inspection, you can bet on a ticket at least if you have nothing else they can add to. Will they arrest you? Not normally. Can they? Depends on your and the cops attitude. No motorcycle endorsement is a very common criminal statute used by law enforcement.

If they cite you, then in most cases with an otherwise good driving record. you can ask that the courts allow you to go to a motor cycle training course and after that get your Endorsement and the charges MAY be dropped depending on your driving history and the judge.

Dude it ain't worth the risk. It will never be any cheaper than it is right now to get one.

This thread is almost 9 years old...most of these guys are long gone from this site lol!!!

Yeah he probably got busted for No M/C endorsement. I didn't see it was that old, I just saw it pop us as a new post. LOL.

Just a heads up, but some insurance carriers will not pay up should you (or someone else) wreck your bike w/o a license.

All things considered, don't be a fool. Get the license.

So since I'm new what are the rules as to the time limit on what you can comment on? Also does it matter how old the thread is if some has some better information available? Yes I'm a tool !!! So we can stop the name calling lol. It was a psychological comment to see if anyone would respond to such an old thread. I guess it worked lol. So does anyone have anything better to offer on the subject other than "just pay the man"? Has anyone ever asked what your rights are?

Lol no but I help the poor souls that face this situation. The solution isn't always just pay the man! Truth be told it amazes me to see how many people just cave and pay the toll.

Yes you are new here. LOL. You might want to read some of my post history around here. It's not about just "paying the man". But if you chose to ride without an endorsement and get ticketed, I'd be interested in hearing what you think your options are going to be besides that?

I mean this isn't like a judgment call as to whether or not you have a m/c endorsement on your license or not. If you choose not to have it and a cop chooses to ticket you for it, what else do you think is going to happen to you?
