Replaced cracked starter cover.....

Do I need to fill up cover with gear oil? I cant find anything in the manual. There is a fill hole on top but I dont know how much to fill or what type of fluid.

The starter cover (pictured) has a small steel fill cap that can be removed. Mine cracked in the same place, but smaller.

If your cover cracked, you need more than just the covers.
The starter clutch needs to be replaced also.

Thank you for the replies, my cover only had a hairline crack , I used another picture from the org.

I thought that the oil came from the crankcase but my friend who helped out with the re-installation thought it needed to be filled separately due to the filler holes in starter cover.

I added the schnitz case protector which really needed to be hammered on. The bike has started fine before but was leaking oil due to small crack in cover.
