Removing front cowl

Does anyone know if you need to remove both side farings before you remove the front cowl? 2008. Gen 2

I am hoping I can remove the front cowl by itself. I got a stress fracture crack along one of the front cowl bolts....

i had mine all stripped down this past winter and id say sides have to be removed along with the 5 pieces up under the nose piece.and ya as much as it sucks taking it all apart its a jigsaw puzzle putting it back together.good luck

Last time I pulled mine apart I started with the cowl on take down, and ended with it putting it back together. At very least you would have to loosen both sides. Good luck !

the bast way without breaking a tab will be taking the sides off since the sides need to move slightly forward before u can take the nose off.. i try to do it the easy way when taking the nose off and that didn't work for me as you need to pull up on the nose and the side farings were getting on the way of the nose/
Bottom line YES side panels first then nose.
