Just installed some .395/.378 lift web cams and just want some clarifications before I finish the degree recommended by Web which is Intake--106 Exhaust--108. First, do I take the clearance or lash out before I rotate the cam and measure at the .050". Bike is used for street and drag, so is the Web recommendations the ideal degree?

I checked out the readings with lash and without.
Intake.. @.006 BTDC-13*
ABDC-45* = 106*
@ "0" Lash -ATDC-14*
BBDC-47* = 106.5*

Exhaust.. @.007 BBDC-48*
ATDC-12* = 108*
@ "0" Lash- BBDC-50*
ATDC-13* = 108.5*

The only difference came out to about a half degree? Now I know why some guys use the large flywheels. Valve clearance was around .075 on intake and over .120 on the exhaust at my first check.
If anyone has any suggestions for tighter settings being better, chime in, just set them according to the Web info. for the .395/.378 lift web cams. If not I guess I'll start to buttom up the top end. I'll get it dynoed in the next 2 weeks once everything is back together. It dynoed at 180 rwhp before with the 1397 12.8:1 pistons and stock cams.
