Remember the dea guy who shot himself in the foot?

What an azz. I did not read but did he lose his job, he does not deserve DEA status. His knowledge of his own gun could greatly be improved.

My money says he'd been an idiot for years, but now there is proof. Hate it when doubt is removed!

That's so wonderfully narcissistic and inane at the same time. That stupid idiot deserves every single piece of humiliation doled out to him. Might be different had he handled the "incident" differently and perhaps apologized to the class for his lack of professionalism, or at least acknowledged he screwed the pooch and then limped away with a semblance of embarrassment and/or shame about him instead of acting like nothing happened and he'd be fine 'cause he's a professional. I just love the "one of the best, if not THE best undercover...." What a dummy.

same &hit happened to me...at the LA riot...back in 1991. I guess...
we were at the hotel (7th and wilshire) lobby (the owners of hotel let us uses the hotel lobby for patrol station) one of the patrol member was asking to the patrol board for gather some info about all the serial numbers of the  patrol members gun infos...so I tell him get some papers and pens for members around here...and he was keep saying one person has to do all that so its easy to read and all...(I hate to give up my guns in some others hand, BTW there was about 70 peoples were in the lobby, most of us have a loaded guns...looks like a movies...BTW, half were sleeping in the couch and some walkin around, we had to patrol all nite everyday) in other words, alot of peoples were in the lobby...
BTW, we were doing the registrations in line, I heard "BANG" a gunshot" went off...a guy who writing info. he place a finger inside a trigger guard, and try to turn the page with a gun holding hand...the bullet went thru a guys pants and thru the couch and didn't hurt nobody...he was a lucky bastid
sounds very idiotic, but when you are in the situations like that? and we all asking to empty the gun before hand it over? yelled a dosen times...it still come in as loaded? gun accidents I saw many of it...and mostly they don't make sense, but happened...
He prolly thinks he knows about guns, and thats why department is letting him doing the  demonstrations in the public...with the real gun not the dummy gun...and still accident occurs...
Anyway, I feel sorry for him

I feel bad for this guy. (But OH MY GOSH!)

Just when he tries to make himself seem so important, he shatters all his credibility, his career, and now - everyone knows who he is; The professional who shot himself in front of a class.

What a bummer...

Note to self: Be humble and I might not shoot myself in the foot.

Remember he's the Best of our First Line of Defense

I remember as a young mush brain Lt. in the Army, during a Demo Class. Our instructor took crimpers to show how NOT to crimp a firing cap and insure you did it correctly. Long story short, he held it up, crimped and BLEW his index finger OFF
wow.gif
. Stuck it against his side, next instructor came up and said, " Gentlemen, that was a demo on how NOT to do it ! Now, take your crimpers in your right hand, insert the cord and crimp it correctly on my command

I don't feel sorry for him in the least. Check the chamber yourself, and don't put your finger in the damn trigger well. Good way to not shoot yourself or someone else when you ask a guy if the pistol's unloaded. Check it yourself when it gets handed over. That's pretty damn elementary. And especially when you're doing a demonstration: Show some professionalism in handling weapons. Be a role model.

Complacency is a b1tch...and you just ruined your career.

And don't assert that you were "one of the best, if not THE best undercover agent..." That's pretty damn self centered, in my opinion anyway.

Who knows, though, maybe he was pulling the slide back to clear it so he could hand it back in correct fashion, even though it was supposed to be empty, and his finger slipped inside the trigger well. Glocks, Glocks, Glocks. Easy to discharge a round.

You know, though, if he would have just eased the slide back when it was handed to him, he could have checked for brass...

You always clear a weapon when you get it... Anyone who takes a person at thier word concerning this is a dumbass.

When they showed the clip on the Today Show (over and over again, I might add), after he shot himself, he stumbled a bit, then motioned to everyone to stay away ... seemingly saying that he was OK!
