Rear stand tips

I line up the stand and left spool, then grab the rail and push down on stand which helps the bike stand straight and the other spool falls into place then it's just pressure down on the stand and up she goes.:)

I put a 2x4 under the kick stand. This stands the bike almost upright. Then I balance it by grabbing the handle on the left hand side of the rear fender and guide the stand under the spools. Piece of cake by yourself.

Well I will be the only weenie to respond to this one. I NEVER attempt to try this by myself. I do not like the feeling of leaning the bike up and then trying to push down on the stand at the same time. It is WAY to easy to F something up like that and then BAM your baby is laying on its side and you are pissed off. I just get someone to hold it upright and I handle the stand myself. It takes 20 seconds of help to avoid screwing up totally scratchless plastics. Just my .02. But I do agree pitbull stands are the shiznit! I love mine.

Anybody got a photo sequence or video of a stem stand in action? Preferably a pit bull on a busa.
That would be hard to photograph. You have to stick the arm with the pin on it up under the faring where you can't really see. Here is a pick of what it looks like up under there. Putting it up on rear stand is easier. Once its on the rear stand you no longer have to worry about the bike tipping over when you put it on the front one but it's kind of a pain in the AZZZZ...........unlesss you are young and very flexible and dont mind standing on your head,

Once its up on both its ROCK solid though!!

Basically you roll the stand in front of the bike, put the pin up in the hole, then push down on the handle. The only problem is, the position you have to be in to see the stem hole

Once the pin is in, the rest is easy.

Great pic FL Knifemaker.

As to the issue about getting the rear up by yourself, zukracer showed me a trick (if you don't have the grab bar on).

Take of the hump. Get the stand ready, and hold the metal bar where the hump latch is mounted, and use that to steady the bike (keep it vertical). While your stabilizing it, get the stand under the swingarm/spools, and while you push down on the stand, pull up on the metal bar. Very simple.

I've watched lots of people use their stands and I SWEAR the forward arm rear stand is MUCH easier!! Like I said, I just hold onto the left handlbar, pop the kickstand up with my foot, eyeball the spools  in place and push the arm down, PIECE OF CAKE

I lift it by myself all the time also. Rear pit bull easy when bike in Baxley chock. If on kickstand I use my CycleCat. Made for the purpose. A little kid could lift it up. Pics show design. Wonderous how it works.

How strong is that Pitbull front stand? I really dont like the handy front stand even thought I got a good deal on them. I want something a bit more stable and that is better at holding the front.

Both pitbull stands are what I would call overbuilt. I couldn't imagine ever having a problem with one. I changed my exhaust system, oil, did ther undertail and everything else with mine. I even use the bike to pull myself up off the floor sometimes, they are SOLID!!

+1

Well, heck, since you admitted to not doing it by yourself, I will too. I just don't trust myself and with the wife balancing the bike upright, it takes me just a few seconds to lift it up on my Pit Bull, so I figure why bother to chance it!
