Rear brake torquelink bar

Ok so I have a Gen 1. When I bought the bike it was extended and the rear brake torquelink was modified to fit. My question is can I completely remove this bar and not reinstall it and is so will the rear brakes be ok without it? Thanx in advance

That bar holds the rear brake caliper stable and if you remove it, go for a ride, press the rear brake pedal, something unusual will happen.....
Can you guess?
Can you work out in your head what happens when the caliper grips the spinning rotor?
The caliper will go round with the rotor until it either smashes into the swing arm or snaps the brake hose...... which ever comes first.
Maybe both.
Anyway, it’ll result in a mess.
So the short answer is don’t do it.
