Rear brake light not lighting up all the way

I was out riding the other day with my friend and he noticed that my brake light was not very bright. After getting back to the house I had him grab the front brake, then the rear brake, then both. And I understood what he was saying it would light up very faintly. So after dinner I took tail section off and checked all the plug ins to the brake light. Checked wiring for any wear. I even checked the fuse. I could not find anything wrong. Has anyone had issues with this same problem? Do i need a new light? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

If its stock just change the bulb and see what happens .

Cant. Its a 2009. And from what I understand its all LED's. And you cant change LED's.

If it's under warranty take it in, otherwise you can make sure all the grounds are good to go and do a voltage check at the connector to make sure it's getting 12 VDC. You might be looking at a tail light assembly if everything checks out. Haven't looked at the assembly on the gen II. I want to say you're the first complaint I've seen. Best of luck.
