Please be careful with your PayPal Accounts.  I recieved a very official looking e-mail addressed from paypal that was not the real deal.  This is a fast growing scam of people trying to access your accounts.  Looked Real but links went to a fake Paypal look alike page.  I sent it in to PayPal & they responded with the message at the bottom.

See Below:

Subject of message was:  <span style='color:deeppink'>Account Notice!!!

If you accessed your account while traveling, the unusual log in attempts may have been initiated by you. However, if you are the rightfull holder of the account, please visit Paypal as soon as possible to verify your identity:

Click here to verify your account

You can also verify your account by logging into your PayPal account at https://www.paypal.com/us/.
If you choose to ignore our request, you leave us no choise but to temporaly suspend your account.

We ask that you allow at least 72 hours for the case to be investigated and we strongly recommend to verify your account in that time.

thanks

yep I am always receiving emails like that.....

AND MOLLY HATCHET ROCKS

There was another email that states a payment has been made. And that if you have not authorized payment, that you must click link to report unauthorized access. [/b]Do not click link. I also sent to paypal and basiclly gat the same response. Just clicking those links may be your worst nightmare.
Hate these F-ers

Been getting those for years.

There's another one I found out about yesterday. I tried filing a complaint about a seller and paypals site would freeze after it went searching for the shipping info. Thought I'd get a quick phone number by searching google as paypal doesn't make it easy on their site.
Turns out people plant fake paypal phone numbers all over the net. You call, guy answers as a paypal rep and takes all your personal info. Best to just dig it out of paypals official site.

I could care less about an ebay account getting hijacked or even my credit cards being used as I'm protected with those. Paypal makes me nervous as it's linked to my checking account. I'm going to open another checking account just for paypal and keep only a small amount of funds in it.

Yep...we got burned by that... "ONCE!"

Thanks for the heads up

Yep, just forward it to spoof@paypal.com and then delete it and NEVER click on any links in the email. BTW, when paypal sends something to you they'll use your actual name, not "Dear paypal member".

First NEVER send your information to anyone that ou did not initiate contact with. Its always a scam! Paypal knows your password, and so does anyone that has set you up, they will never ask for it again.
Second thanks for letting everyone know, but everyone, send these scam letters to paypal. They have a scam dept. to sent it too. I got a couple of these and sent them to Paypal. With in a few days Paypal sent me a note thanking me and conferming they were now closed down (the scamer). But as we all know they just pop up again and again.

always call to verify to customer dep. do not respond to their email right away...thats what they are looking for...

I always respond to them:
First name: A$$
Last name: Hole
SS#: 012-34-5678
Credit card # 1234567890
Screen name: Stillanasshole
Pass word: Gof**kyourself

Fill them all out like that and make them waste their time!
