raising the clipons

I got a buddy that is going to mill me a spacer to raise the clip ons/ lower the front. Question is how hi can they be raised with out having to lengthen any cables, brake lines, etc... Is 2 inches to much? would like at least 1 inch. Ordered 1 inch lowering links for the back and want to match that at least. Thanks

First, you will need a aftermarket windscreen for clearance if you don't have one already. Second, 2" will likely be too much. I have the Genmar 1 1/4" spacer and with the choke cable rerouted it is barely long enough. You will find the front brake cables will be to short for comfort if the front end comes off the ground. I had custom lines made up for the front 2" over and went with two full length lines instead of the factory xover style. I also did the clutch (2" over) and new rear brake so they all matched.
