Radar

I just read about a radar/laser detector with the cordless alerter in your helmet. I know that cars (brand  of detector I forget) have a remote receiver in the front behind the grill with the signal located in the dash where only you can see.

Since a lot of police tell me that if they stop you and you might just get a warning, with a radar detector YOU GET THE TICKET

. Their idea is YOU just got caught vs the many times you didn't. So in short their idea is: I GOT YA

So, I read an article where the rider had a wireless signal in his helmet. But the article didn't say what brand or anything else (it was about a trip from Okla to the MotoGp race) .

QUESTION: Does anyone know the brand that has the remote wireless signal for the helmet. Now, not that I speed

,  Noooooooooooooo, but with taxes being cut and all the little citys looking for new revenue to pay their 1 of 2 policemen, I think I'am back in the radar looking business.

Also, the veypor HUD has a deluxe model that will interface with certain radar detectors that will five you a heads up display of any radar you're getting hit with.

Yeah, I bit and bought a whistler. I had to fab a channel bracket out of tin to mount the read out unit to one of the handle bar mounting bolts, and had some trouble connecting the rear laser detector (kept getting false laser warnings). Sent it back in for additional EMF shielding, and that cured it. The Busa must have a hot ignition and very little EMF shielding as it did cause interference with the Laser detector part. The radar part works fine.

I havn't gotten a ticket or stopped yet, so, I can't really report on it's effectiveness. The readout unit displays voltage, ambient temp, and Highway(for radar), so I don't know if the cops would recognize it as nothing more than another electronic set of gauges, at least that is what I would tell them if asked.

Interesting, shows voltage and temp

! Now that could make it a winner when stopped

I use the HARD system with the Escort 8500 (I think that's the model)... I put the detector up above the gauge cluster, wedged between that and the windscreen, the HARD transmitter is wired behind the plasic inner fairing piece.

I have been pulled over a few times and for those few times I didn't get a ticket. When I take my gloves off, I set them up towards the guage cluster and cover the radar detector.

So far so good.
