Good afternoon everyone! I am looking to mount a radar detector on my 2011 busa. Any thoughts on location, brand, etc?
I would appreciate any and all thoughts!!
Thanks!!

Go to the pashnit site. He sells everything you need provided they are legal in your state. If not, that's another conversation.

As far as I know ONLY VA and DC outlaw them.

I use a center stem mounting plate for mine.
And a wireless light in my helmet.

Just remember they are useless against Laser and only somewhat useful for radar.

My TPX Adaptive sold by Pashnit has saved my and my groups bacon many times as we travel at more than three times the speed limit it will give you on a straight road all the time you need to slow down. The Adaptive detector is only about middle of the pack of available detectors but is mostly waterproof and comes with a very bright LED warning light or you can use an aftermarket bluetooth light in you'r helmet. If you want to spend more money but loose the waterproof part you can get one of the better units out there with bluetooth and mount the warning light in the helmet. These better units have far less false alerts but are almost twice as much. If you look at RAM mounts they make mounts that will mount virtually anywhere on the bike.

I use an ESCORT REDLINE detector and have been very happy with it up until yesterday when I got a speeding ticket. I had the detector in my car and was in a hurry. Nothing new there. I was ambushed by a pair of police officers hiding behind a large digital information sign. The kind that advises you of pending road construction and such. My REDLINE did not make a peep. After talking to ESCORT today they said that the beam sent out by the LASER gun can be as small as two feet in diameter and if the beam does not actually hit the detector then the detector will not respond.

ESCORT's only advice was to get a laser shifter. ESCORT also said that portable detectors all have limitations. Small consolation. I guess I/we still need to rely on our "spider sense". As much as I hate to say, the cops had picked a great spot for their ambush - in a bend, in the shade, and hiding their cruisers well out of sight and using the sign as a further distraction. I was the April fool.
