Pump Keeps Priming When Hot.

Hello, I'm working on a project and having an odd issue recently where after a long ride engine will stall after a loud backfire. After the stall with the bike still hot, I'll turn the ignition to the ON position and after a few seconds I'll see CHECK come up on the gauge and the temp gauge will creep up as if the kill switch has been cycled to OFF. Then It will go back to normal and the fuel pump will prime, it will keep doing that at random intervals until the bike cools down some, and after that it will go for another several miles before the same thing will happen. Note that I can restart the engine immediately, or until it cycles and cuts out again. If anyone has any previous experience with this, please pitch in I really need some ideas.

Hi.
What year and fuel set up do you have on the bike? 99 models suffered bad, with that out of tank fuel pump set up, sounds like you are getting vapour lock or a collapsing fuel hose (if outbof tank pump) due to heat.
