Not only will it make improvements, but with the right program, you will get enhanced power. You might want to consider a full exhaust if you want to get full potential out of the bike and the power commander. The Power Commander has a performance program based on your bike's setup (i.e. gearing, type of exhaust, etc.) My suggestion would be the PCIII USB over the IIIr. The USB has new fancy add-ons that will further enhance the PCs capabilities.
