Rubb started with this 2000. The Captain and I shared the same color scheme.Bought it for 8 grand.Busa's have 7 painted parts in stock form,I painted up 37 parts, and polished every else, even the frame, wheels, stock cans...everything.
Then a bad thing happened...

Rubb.

Started with a leftover 2012 purchased in 2013, written off in 2015 which led to me buying the 08 LE.

When our beloved rocket debut'd in 1999 my heart stopped for a second. When it re-started,I thought to myself some day some will turbo that beast. So,couple years back I decided to stop fuggin' around. Why not just buy the biggest, baddest, bastid I could find close by. Vancouver BC.Old boy that owned it(bout 70 years old) ya,I know. :crazy::race:
He bought it new in Ontario, had it shipped to Richard at RCC Turbo, didnt even ride it. After the build (65 grand bike+build) he had it shipped home. Here's where he made a fatal error...he took his wifey for a ride. She very calmly demanded that he sell it. Not many want a turbo busa in these parts. He was asking for 50 cents on the dollar,32,500 buckaroos. I offered 20 grand. Guess what,Rubb was the proud new owner. 3000 miles on the clock.

Your commitment is a strong one oh bald headed one . . .
I bought my ‘99 model on a impulsive whim after browsing NZ’s online marketplace, “Trademe.co.nz”
That was 6 years ago, never rode it much for the first 18 months coz I also had a 2009 KTM 990 Adventure bike and I was very much into that style of riding at that time in my life.
Then I sold the KTM to finance building a patio and a few other odds and ends.
I started riding the Busa in earnest, and it needed work... mostly just freshening up in the chassis department, and so it began.
Little by little I became obsessed with turning it into the great handling, fast as, great looking machine it is today.
I’ve covered 54,000kms on it and had such a blast riding it.
I could not imagine life without a Busa now, it’s the ultimate riding experience and great all rounder, just awesome I reckon!

First Bus was a 99 Cop totaled
Second bus was a 99 blue stolen
Third bus was 2002 blue sold
Forth bus was 2011 blck sold
Fifth bus was 2008 white sold
Sixth bus was 2005 blk current

300,000 miles of riding.

Half of that on three Hayabusa’s. Love at first sight when the ‘99 came out. I had a ‘93 ZX-11D at the time and the Busa was bigger . Coincidentally then came the touring business and I had no idea the bike would make such a perfect sport-touring machine.Modding the bike is the other half of the fun.

Love the all around versatility of this bike.
