Polishing 08 'Gold' rims

Ok I did try and search before I posted

Is it possibly to polish those dull looking gold rims to make them nice and shiney? I was wanting to do that pretty bad and someone actually told me that its really easy to do by yourself...I didn't quite get the details from them what tools / supplies are needed for something like this? How much work would be involved? I know nothing about polishing so if anyone could just give me a heads up on the process or just point me to the right direction I'd appreciate that

have a GOOD painter clearcoat (at least two strong coats to help relive the grain) them and you will get the shiny effect without all the elbow grease,,, ive done quite a few this way and they turned out great!
