Police pullover protocol

Anyone been riding in a group and had the fuzz kick on the lights?

If so, what did you do? Do you all pullover, or do you just leave the tail guy as fodder? Or, is it the leader they want?

Any ideas? I just don't see why everyone should be yanked.

I know Mikey is drooling over this one and thinking to himself... Why should anyone pullover??

Pull over one or two at a time.........Unless everyone just wants a ticket! Legally, your suppose to pull over as soon as you spot an emergency vehicle. But, I still think when your riding in a large group let the tail enders pull over a couple at a time until its obvious the fuzz has got who their looking for!

10-4, over and out...

Boys boys boys....this question is SOMEWHAT irrelevant as a busa owner since YOU WILL NEVER BE TAIL FODDER.

This is another reason why I avoid riding in groups.

I got my speed'in ticket when the police picked me out of the middle of the group(damn red shirt). I honestly wasn't speeding(that time). My only advise is to try and keep with the group and don't let the police split it up so they can nail a dude and wear dull colors(damn red shirt).

Are you guys suggesting that riding in groups doesn't allow you to beat-it? Would that be because you are afraid of buddies ratting you out?

LOL well I wouldnt run from cops in a big group. If I was in a group of about 2 or 3 guys, and we all decided what to do if zapped (run or pull over)

if it was a large group and I didnt know the other riders very well, I'll pull over. No need getting someone in more trouble.

Nope, it is just more likely to get stopped for something you did not do. Or blamed from the clown that was doing wheelies on the neighbors cat.

Yea but some of the "FULL GROWN BEARS" like to move up the line catchin tags, then flagging over the 1st bike. Then while holdin up the left lane flaggin over one by one until all are over on the berm. Then they move up and block the first one in. Now they got cha in order and most tags doc'ed. At least thats how tis done in the only state in the union you can get the death penalty for speed.

In Hawaii, typically, 1 guy, by himself, gets zapped.

Group, the cops pull ya over and have a rap session about safety... yada, yada, yada.

I,m with stunnah, if the fuzz is on my tail or if I see lights or hear sirens, I immedietly pull over cuz its the law, BUT if you pull over real fast it makes everyone else look like they are trying to elude him? so he may pass you and try to get the others, the law says it is legal to pull back onto the roadway once the emergency vehicle has safely passed you, so I would pull back out onto the roadway once he's passed me, being sure to look the other way if he has bikes pulled over ahead, just in case he trys flagging me down.... kinda sneaky I know, but hey, who wants to pay an already rich attorney to get another one dismissed?

Just so you know unless it is Laser radar it can not pick who was speeding in the group the police officer that picks you out of the group and says he got you with regular radar is a liar. Tell him I said so in court and ask him if he was asleep in the radar class at the academy. What radar does is picks out the most radar refectant object. Because of its curves and small frontal area the Busa is not a very radar refectant object.

Race24X I would agree to a point, but

at the same time if the tracking history is consistant and the visual estimation matches the radar signature and audio verification is on que, then the target is correct. If the bikes pass pass by individually meaning they are not all side by side then the readout is accurate. If they are all side by side and the above is true then they were all clocked at the same/similar speed. If it's high enuff 1MPH is an acceptable tolarance.

So in a nut shell if 4 of you are side by side and your clocked at 100 in a 65 then it is reasonable that all of you are doing 100 MPH. So if you get ticketed for 95+ which is a lower fine I doubt you will be sucessfull at winning that one in court.

AGAIN if the tracking history is constant and the visual etc etc etc.

Dont think ya'll will win that one. WHats your argument. "I was catching up at 98 not 100

I think in a group it's still your decision. Not everybody will stop or run. If he's got your tag your pretty well screwed already.

If one person gets found guilty he can not prove in a visual est unless you all went right by and did not hit the brakes at all riding in exact sequence side by side? what are the chances of that. Basically he is going to get on the stand and lie his ass off anyway. They use the same protocol every time they get in court. I tested the radr blah blah at this time blah blah About the only way to beat a ticket is to show that there was someone else around. Other than that it is Prma Facia evidence and you are screwed. Oh you want to check the radar too and you do have the right to see it except on highways forbidding pedestians (well in Maine you do anyway) If he didnt lock you in You can probably beat it

Georgia = Violator has right to request radar unit test but no right to watch test, see results of test, nor see locked in speed during the stop... Just FYI...

I go on a ride every year up to jackson hole wyoming with a bunch of random bikes. Harleys, BMWs, sport bikes, you name it its there.

Every year a few people get popped. however as soon as we hit a speed trap or pass a cop it immediatly turns into an all harley ride as they were maxed out anyway at 110 and you see the busas, R1s, gxsers, in a group fading into the distance followed by the ducatis and bmws.

The sport bikes have yet to get a ticket using this technique haha. The cops always just remind the ticket recipient he needs to tell his buddies to slow down. However they do radio ahead so we have to be on our game and watch for traps the rest of the trip.
