OK, here's the story: I heard about some sliders that you can put on a Busa that wouldn't require drilling the plastic. Also, I just read about sliders to put on the swingarm (?). Can anyone help? Thanks, fellas!

I heard about those sliders on another site, but haven't been able to find them.  It would be nice, but I think because of the position of the engine mount there will be some drilling required.  I am looking for the swingarm sliders, but all I have been able to find are the rollers.  I know that doesn't help, but now you know others are in the same position. :D

Don't know anything about the non-drill sliders but here's a photo of the LP Carbon swingarm sliders. Can't find a part number for them yet, though. I'll keep digging and see what I can come up with. ;)

There are several sets of sliders out there. The basic two types are the ones that screw into the frame using the engine mount holes and the kind that screw into the fairing mount holes. The fairin mount screws are small and I've heard horro stories from people who had their bike fall over and the screws breakoff leaving part of the screw in the hole, as well as some that have bent and damaged the fairing more than if there had been NO sliders. The Engine mount type which requires you to cut your fairing seems to provide a sturdier point for connecting sliders --and it seems to provide the best performance.

Yup, what Dez says I've heard too... don't skimp, get the drill and the dremmel out and have at 'er... you know you want to!

Yes, the swingarm sliders are spooled to be used as the support for a spooled stand. I have them on my bike and also have the matching frame sliders, but haven't installed the frame sliders yet.

Thanks everyone!! I guess I won't be getting those swingarm spools after all. BTW, what the green gravy is the difference between a slider and a spool? Please bear with the Noob, fellas!

there isnt a difference its just a different name for them. They are not going to help your bike if you drop it like frame sliders. The are for show and bike stand .

Sykotyk -

Where did you get the swingarm sliders? I am looking for the carbon fiber ones to match the frame sliders I am going to put on this weekend. Wish me luck! Think BT's post will help. I just hope I am able to find the center and smooth out the holes.

BigBS,

Try www.parts411.com. That's where I got my sliders. I think they stock a lot of LP stuff. I didn't see the swing arm sliders on their site listing but that doesn't mean they don't have them. Give 'em a call and see if they can help. ;)

Thanks, BT. I tried to find them when I ordered my frame sliders, but didn't see them. I may give them a call tomorrow. 'Gotta finish the clear lens mod tonight to free up my time to do the frame sliders starting tomorrow afternoon.

hey BT on parts411 what is the part # for the carbon sliders like you have?

Link no longer works <~ Click the part number to go to the right page on parts411.com for the frame sliders. The photo on the page is of the swingarm sliders but the part number is correct for frame sliders. When I ordered I asked to make sure. They said they didn't have a photo of the frame sliders so they used a photo of the swing arm sliders instead. I ordered the above part number and got the right thing. ;)

Just talked with LP and they do not make the CF swingarm sliders for the 'Busa. Couldn't get an explanation of why or when, but they only make them for the GSXR600/GSXR750. Maybe they will wake up soon!

Yes LP makes them . I have them. The ones for 600/750/1000 are the ones you need. They are all the same for Suzuki's.

Please correct me if I am wrong but I was under the impression that the swing arm sliders would save your swing arm from getting ground down in a slide (Heaven forbid!)

thx BT...I've looked at alot of sliders before but never liked any(until I saw yours) so I wanted to make sure I had the right part # if I wanted to get some.

Thanks, SA. Neither the guy at LP or parts411 knew they would fit a 'Busa. Kind of scary, but I wonder why LP doesn't add the 'Busa to the bikes they will fit?

No problem. The ones I got were my favorites, too. I was back and forth on whether or not to do sliders until I saw the LP carbon sliders. When I saw these, I knew it was a done deal. Here are two decent photos I took today of mine installed. ;)
