Plastic welding...

Hi, all;

I am once again on a quest for an undertail that retains the stock taillight (out 250 for a motorhead that was too thin to mount). I came across one that I'm thinking of picking up, but I need to cut my stock undertail. I am considering plastic welding it to the stock undertail (as they're both ABS), but I wanted to see if any of you guys have any recommendations as far as plastic welders. I was looking at a Urethane Supply Company 5500HT airless welder, but I'm not sure if that's the right type I need for this.

TIA,

Hajii

I just use a soldering gun with a flat blade tip, then scuff it up with 220 grit, and epoxy or fiberglass over the seams.. never had a problem yet.

put your money away and just carve out the stock under tail with a blade or dremel (preffered) fill all the holes and sand out... paint flat black... get a clear alternative tail lite

and your on the road... everyone will ask where you got your cool under tail

it looks great, you can even leave a bit of a tail for your plate at the back
