Plastic Rings Around the Tops of the Forks. Loose with Riser Install

Hey Guys

Forgot to mention, after installing my handle bar risers, the little round black plastic "Chingadoras" (technical term) that sit on the top of the forks just flap around.

I dont really see what function these have other then maybe acting as an abrasion guard against the piece that used to sit on top of them before adding the risers.

Anyone care to chime in?

Thanks

Remove them!
They are there to keep debris from getting between the two halves of the clamp!

Thanks man, thats what i figured, just wanted to check with the experts.

This thing is so much more high tech then any other bike ive owned, im kinda paranoid working on it! :)

Looked it up in the Busa Dictionary:

Chingadoras: (Ching-a-door-ras)

IItems that perform some minor function not readily apparent. Typically removing these parts will not result in catastrophic failures, as they are not vital to the function of the equipment or tool.
