Plasma / HD TV's

Oh im not mounting crap on the wall here. Went looking at plasmas today. Now just because its plasma doesnt mean its high def right.

Ok those are the ones i saw. it said hd something but it was high def. You could look at the high def and tell the difference. the 42 in plasma was 1999 at the BX and with no tax i should save a couple hundred bucks

Holy Crap Gateway's Plasma displays are downright cheap compared to a lot of others...  $2199 for 42" isn't bad at all...
I didn't even know gateway was selling em'... $3500 for HD, not bad at all...

How do you rate the quality Diesel?

nope just do a search for plasma

I run a 42" Panasonic Plasma at home (accquired through my work) and I can honestly say that I would not go back to 'standard' tv. When the racing season starts you know you did the right thing, as for the playstation - wow

    .GNOME.

My only problem with it is getting Gypsy Joker to leave!

What can I say.. I was a boob tube child!

The picture quality is very sweet.. I just can't justify the money to have one~ I've also heard they are disposable.. once they crap out, that's it~ That being the case, I'd have to have a lifetime waranty~ 'Coarse if I had the money to burn.. I'd have my high mount system on my Busa already!!

I bought a 52 inch Toshiba h.d. t.v. about 3 yrs. ago and have enjoyed it immensely. I got the bug to upgrade and started looking at what was available. The wall projection would give me a 100 inch or more wide screen, but you give up a lot of brightness compared to the lcd or the plasma. Between the lcd and plasma, the plasma is brighter. The highest resolution of any set yet is that 45 inch lcd Aquous by Sharp. It also has the cool HDMI inputs (better than my component inputs because the get it all into 1 wire where I need 4 wires) HDMI is the lastest. The Sharp has the incredible price, however. It's a difficult choice: cheaper and bigger vs. brighter and smaller.

Yeah the Gateway's have been out now for a while...They got pretty good reviews, the only bad point was the quality of black level....I think for the money they're a great bargain.

I myself am going for the front projection setup....For the 10k you will spend on a 60" plasma or the 8k you'll spend for a nice Sony WEGA LCD I can have a pretty nice setup with a front projection HD system. I would like a 120" screen, but I'll have to wait and see after my move how much room I will have.....I figure I'll probably end up with somewhere between 80"- 100"....we'll see.

36" glass TV VS new projector on normal painted wall.
I got my projector today... I think I'm gonna like this. Below is the Aquarium on Finding Nemo with great colors and contrast, and some sloppy pics from my cam.

36" TV here. Seems pretty big to me. The two lights are 100 watt bulbs, both on full power. Scuze the mess, I have a lot of moving/wiring to do now.

Here's the projector under the same environment - 200 watts, projecting on wall as is. Both were tuned using the THX OPTIMIZER on the Finding Nemo DVD. I don't think 100 inches is available to the public in plasma yet

Here's how the lights are most of the time when vegging out, gaming or working in the studio.... of OFF completely. The projector is sharp, accurate, smooth.. I love it already. It will take me a few months to tune and tweak the image to a point where I am completely comfortable with it, but as is, it's GREAT! Everything is bigger and more detailed. The projector is an OPTOMA 739 that my home theater freak friend recommened, and the lamp should last around 5000 hours. Lamps are about $380 to replace FYI but BOY, is it worther it. This picture is HUGE!!
