Painting the Busa

You should only have to watersand the existing paint, bare plastic, you need Bulldog adheision promoter as mentioned.
Your clear acts like a flex agent with the activator you mix in it.
You do know that you need to 'thin out' the paint right.

Make sure you strain the mixed paint before putting into yer gun.
No water in the line! You can buy a throw away filter that screws on to the gun...
Make sure you do even strokes when painting, otherwise,it can look blotchy!
Dont try to cover all in 1 coat!!!
Give it like 15 minutes 'flash time' in between coats.

hth's

Here's mine with the Brandywine base and the real flames over it. I had it solid Brandywine for a year then had to change it up a bit.

one more of the Brandywine over a silver base wiht the real flames on top. It does need a buffing to get the shine to come out a little more

Putting an incredible paint job on a Busa is done in 4 easy steps:

1. Remove body panels.
2. Ship stock panels to Revolution.
3. Receive painted panels from Revolution.
4. Reassemble.

OK, its not a DIY paint job, but it does come out great

I knew it, just lay down a base coat of black, and then another, and then another................

How much darker would the paint be if I laid own a base coat of balck? [/Quote]
Now you are loosing yer marbles...You dont use black!
Black doesnt have any metallic in it!
You can go with a gold metallic base coat if you want it darker.
The more coats you put,the darker it will get!

Real men do their own paint jobs!!

I'd recommend going with the PPG K36 epoxy primer over the HOK KP21. It's compatible.

It seems they've changed the formula since I sprayed last a few years ago and came onto two bad batches. The PPG sprayed beautifully. Very nice solids.
