Painting of ye ole bike

Ok, as many of you know, I laid her down about 3 months ago.  I didn't do any damage to the forks or the frame but the fairings did not do so well.  I thought I would just update on the progress.  

I was at the paint shop last night until 3:00am (and still managed to be at work at 8:00).......

Here was by baby before the wreck...

Then this happened

Which led me to get this stuff.

This is where the fun started, and after many hours we got to this point......

After all the time we spent last night here are the pics.  There is a pearl on there but you can not see it since it is in the booth, but once it is out in the sun..... OOOOOHHHHH MAMA

The first stage after primer.  We painted the base color and cleared..

Then we sanded everything down and did the second color.

That's going to look sharp! I love that color.

Here is what we ended up with.....
You can not see the pearl becuase it is all in the booth. But it looks real pretty

The best part is that with little light or bright sun you can not see the second color. But in the middle lighting you can see both.

I think that it will stay as is. Once you see the pearl I think most all will agree that it would be a shame to cover any of it.

We will not get into that yet since I have still yet to pick them up from the shop. I will let you know once it is back together and I am riding it to your house to show it off......

I hope to have it all put back together this weekend. I am even taking the day off tomorrow so that I can start on the wiring. and hopefully put some stuff together.

I will say that those pics give it no justice.....
