I was getting ready to wash my '08 Orange/Black today and my wife wanted to see if she could sit on it and hold it up... Of course she dropped it on the concrete, what was I thinking?

Anyway, scratches all over the left fairing, mirror, pipe, and front fender. A good way to start the break in, I just tripped 400 miles. Sorry, just venting, thanks for listening.

I'll take the superstitous route on this one to try to make it less painful.

I believe every bike goes down once. When I got my bike I put my wife on it and laid it down (gently, on a mattress) and told her, OK, the bike has been down with you on it. Now you can relax, it won't go down again.

She's never been afraid to ride since and we've had great times on it. (Riding and not!)

Sorry about the scratches, they can be fixed.

Sorry to hear, bro! Hope you can get her fixed quickly.

I have to agree with PandaNin, it is just cosmetic, still painful...LOL. I had a Ducati once jump of the kick stand twice (my stupidity) when I was starting it. The green light was on but it was still in first. I doubt I will fix it, I need to spend the money on pipes. Thanks for listening, I knew someone could relate.

more importantly, if your wife ok? the last time my wife laid her bike down, she nearly broke her leg but walked about with a huge bruise. best of luck...lesson learned.

Yeah razorshark, she is fine, she just stepped off. I am truely blessed that she didnt get hurt. She was pretty upset, but like I told her, that is a heavy bike, I couldnt have caught it either after it crossed the point of no return. Like I said the bike is just cosmetic, it could have been a lot worse. Thanks for asking. You all have made me feel a lot better, Thanks!

Glad the wife is okay.  That's the important part.

Now you can make her feel so guilty that she starts buying you mods for the bike.

Hey she got the 1srt drop out of the way for ya, work the guilt angle and get some extra goodies! Oh and dont forget the pics!

Just tell her the pipe is damaged and can cause serious engine issues if not replaced. And Yosh cans are 3 times cheaper than the stock replacement.

Run with it, get creative. Maybe the bike can be fully modded by August!

Two weeks ago my wife and her friend got it in their heads that they needed to do a couple of dump runs and on the second trip they dragged last years Christmas tree out of the compost pile and threw it on top of the pile in the back of my pick up. I told her she was just making extra work for herself and the tree was fine in the compost but she said it would take too long to decompose so it was going. I said fine suit yourself. Well....on the way to the dump the tree flipped out and the trunk put a good size dent in the side of the bed. She came home and felt terrible and said if she had only listened and that see would pay to fix it. Well my money is hers and her money is mine so it doesn't really matter and with things being so tight right now it will have to wait to get fixed. She knows how well I take care of my stuff and feels so bad that she has been trying to make it up to me every night since. Work it man.
