It's an interview between Ray Halbritter and a local news station. Halbritter is the Ceo of the ONIEDA INDIAN NATION. He is also the owner of the TURNING STONE CASINO AND RESORT, where my old lady works for the gaming commission. His Native Iroquois name is Gaiongwilode.

Okay now I'm pissed because Native Americans are people who have gone through more sh!t than any other. For cryin' out loud we have holidays celebrating when we massacred their people. They're also the easiest to single out because they live on reservations so they're kind of segregated. But that was their choice.

Now Halbritter doesn't have a very good rep. I have actually heard someone refer to him as a dictator!

I don't know who side to take I used to take the Onieda Nations side, which I should they gave my old lady a job but I here all kinds of different stories on things.

But this is an interesting situation. Tell me what you think and I am going to research more.

My grandmother is Cherokee, and I have seen thru the years how this government has purposely and discreetly try to destroy there nation. I have been on all the Cherokee reservations from here to the west. Ive seen how the people live, mud houses, and floors, how drugs and alcohol have destroyed them, a poverty struck nation, which our government wants to take away even more from them. I really don't want to stay on this topic, I'll start getting upset, this nation has nothing for the heritage of this country. Immigrants and Illegal aliens have more rights then any Indians or tribes all across this land.

True and in our situation in CNY the one man who can make a difference seems to be abandoning his people and their beliefs and uses the system for his own financial gain.

Ok, I am not Indian so I don’t know what it is like to be "suppressed"

What I can tell you, is where I live. The nearest reservation has a gaming Casino

Every Indian native that lives on the reservation gets like $3000.00 per month.

They don’t have to do anything for it. Just being Indian and living on the reservation. that is for EVERY Indian Native.

So.. lie for example.. if you are a family of 5, husband, wife, three kids, you get $3000.00 each per person, from the gaming commission, for doing nothing. just being Indian and living on the reserve


So that family of 5 is taking in about 15000.00 per month.. and no one has to work

I see guys driving around in brand new H2's and H3's all tricked out.

Law enforcement really has no jurisdiction. On occasion the SO is called out to handles something, and the SO hates going out there because they are usually shot at, and they usually cant do anything about it.

So, in OUR environment, when you are giving LOTS of money to people and not requiring them to have any responsibilities guess what, they usually wont be responsible, what else is there to do if you have no responsibilities, protected by the reservation, and in a lot of ways not held accountable for much? Party.

If someone is on drugs, or an alcoholic, that is no ones fault but the person who is in control. I.E. the person who is doing the drugs.

I really don’t think I am prejudice, I like people, regardless of sex, race or planet (planet thing was a joke

), and I dislike people who take advantage of others, and I dislike people who don’t take responsibility for their own actions.

Do I dislike Indians? (or is it Native Americans now? Every few years references to particular group of people become politically incorrect so it gets changed) Do I dislike the Native American’s on our reservation? NO.

Am I envious? Oh heck yeah. I wish I could get $3000.00 a month for each of my family members and not have to do anything about it.

Sad thing is I see people getting all this money and just blowing it on partying and trivial stuff and not doing anything of substance with it… that is what is sad

So at least with our reservation here… I defiantly don’t dislike anyone on the reservation. But in the same breath I don’t feel sorry for any of them either. They are well taken care of by the Gaming commission.

Oh yeah.. and too add, I think it is kind of cool that in the United States, Indian reservations for the most part are off limits to the federal government. meaning they can pretty much make what ever rules they want.

Where else in the United States can you live like that?

But again. I dont live on a reservation so I acknowledge there is probably an entire other side of the coin I dont even see. all I can do is express what I do see

I don't know how many reservations you've been on ThrasherFox, evidently not many, I don't know one reservation in the U.S. that a family gets that type of money from, quote from the gaming commission. Harrahs is right one the Cherokee reservation here and trust me the people don't get the money, the proceeds go to building new school systems and housing for them and make employment oppurtunities happen so they can live, alot of the Cherokee people here that do work have to go outside the reservation to find work.
Have you ever been to the reservations in Oklahoma, Arizonia, Nevada, or New Mexico.....trust me these people live in dirt homes and floors, with very little running water, there may be some places that may pay gaming endeavors to indians, but I for one have yet seen a dime. This country was founded on taken the land from the indians, this is not ONE treaty ever been signed by the US government that the government itself didn't break....check your history books, go to the library do some research, and as for as the drugs and alcohol I believe all people should be responsible for there actions, but if I had to live the way 90% of native americans had to live, I'd stay stoned too.....may Custard burn in hell.....the Sioux did him justice, he was a sorry bastid too!

Uhh well that was why I made sure to statement that I am only familiar with OUR reservation we have here.

I would say the problem is (at least with reservations that have a gamlbing facility) with the Indian leadership. They should take note of how they do it here (Lemoore California)

It seems like they use a great deal of the money they make (which is a bunch) to take care of the people on the reservation... Which I think is pretty cool, and it seems from what your telling me is an odity... which is sad.
