K, wanna launch a 6spd 1998-2002 Camaro or Trans Am to a low 13 or high 12 on the stock tires? Here's how ya do it:
1) Short burnout, just bark 'em for a second to clean them off. Stock street tires are designed to not heat up. An epic burnout will do nothing more than take mileage of the tire at a furious rate. You WILL NOT launch harder.
2) Creep to the light, stage so that you're just barely braking the second beam.
3) Tach the motor to 2500 rpm and hold it there.
4) On the last yellow, slip the clutch out while getting down on the gas. It'll take a few runs to get it down, but abrupt clutch action = smoke generator, too slow on the clutch = a bad 60'. You're looking for a 1.9-2.0ish 60' on the stock tires. Higher time are the norm for non-SS or WS6 cars because they don't have as good of a tire on them.
5) All shifts down the quarter mile should be accomplished with the MINIMUM of clutch pedal push possible. You don't have to jam the clutch all the way to the floorboards. You'll be smoother and quicker this way.
6) You MUST pay attention to the 2-3 shift on a stock car. This shift flat-out sucks and is the one missed most often (by far...). The gearshift hits a "dead space" in the 3rd gear gate and doesn't engage. Do it carefully and smoothly.
7) Run the thing out all the way to the end. You'll be in 4th gear when you trap. NEVER get off it until you're well past the traps. 98-02 car have good brakes, use them.
Best time personally? 12.98@108.9

Whisper lid
Exhaust cut-out
Fernco coupler
!CAGS
Tires at between 18 and 22 psi
Some minor weight reduction (spare, jack, rear seats).
After real mods?
Well... that isn't a stock car anymore and you'll have a new driveshaft, clutch and rear end by that time...
