OK Like Rhythm is allways saying, "I got More time than Money."

On real hot days I was getting frustrated by the lack of Air reaching my upper Body (THe Zero G. Double Bubble works pretty damn well). The Stock screen has problems too, I can't see the top of the gauges. So, I got a spare stock screen off of ebay and went to it. I am a Dangerous man with a Dremel. I still need to polish the screen and get out some scratches but here's the results of a couple hours work...

Whadya All Think??

The hardest part was finding the center and creating the arcs..

Then getting the edges cleaned up was a pain... Plain ole metal files made quick work of it...

AND Uh A Shot of Her sexy Butt, while wearing her new shoes...

Oh yeah, I got rid of allmost all of my chicken strips today. The new rubber still needs some scuffing in and while riding with Raider and VaBusa I got some good corner exit wiggles... So I know the whole "release Compund" warnings are not Myth... They are just about ready to go. I am kinda liking the new Bridgstone 010 Sport they put on. Still going to kick Bridgstone to the curb next time around but so far The 010 feels a lot better than the BT56.

Nice work Rev! it looks like a good, functional mod.

I like the profile in that first pic.

Definitely looks good. I especially like that last shot from the front. Impressive work, kid!

Looks like you did it on purpose!

You can heat polish the windscreen edges, but you have to be SUPER CAREFUL not to bubble it. Practice on the piece you cut out of it.

Good luck!

Rev, you read my mind.

when i'm dragracing, at the launch I like to get really far forward, and the screen is in the way. I've tried racing without it, but just seems too wierd... I intended on doing this mod too, just enough that my helmet fits over the front of the tank.
how hard was it??

Very interesting, Rev! Lilah looks hot in her new, low cut top!

I like the look. You really have a knack for getting the curves and shapes of your mods schweet, bro. You should get with Zero Gravity and see if they're interested in making your idea available to more folks... unless of course you're tooling up yourself.

Oh, and I'd ask for a template for the windscreen mod, but, uuuuummm, hehehehe.....

Now where's that dang oil thread you owe us? I thought you were going to start a thread on your experience so far with Silkolene...

The Key Cache is your Geometry before hand...  That was kind of a pain in the ass.    The whole screen is 2.5" shorter nose to tail, then the scooped section in the middles peaks at about 6" removed.

It's seems to make a huge difference in the amount of air reaching me when sitting up, and I certainly have a clear view of the gauges.  Oh and it looks funky, now I just have to get the scratches polished out.   Might want to tape the screen before you begin, could save you from scratching the crap out of it like I did.  Oh, and do it away from your bike or anything you do not want messy.  The plastic comes apart with a lot of spiny little balls and chips that were acting like brambles, real clingy...messy...
On a hardness scale of 1-10, I would rate this about a 5-6, Only because find reference points and absolute measures on a complex curve are a Beeeoootch.  Once you got a line to follow with the sharpie, your good to go.
Thanks for the comments folks,  you keep encouraging me I'll find some more things to cut off my ride...

Oh and yeah... so now we're talking about a total of 50 free Horsepower, all with the Dremel...

The pictures don't do Rev justice. If you don't know Busa's
or have one near by for referance you could mistake Rev's
for stock. Even if you run you hands over it! Rev definately
did an excellent job.

I second that Raider...Rev was kind of downing himself for the little surface scratches, but the windshield looks great! You'd never know he did it in his garage...figured he unpackaged it from a box and put it on!

Hey, wait...Raider - maybe he did do just that, scuffed it up a bit to say "hey, look at what I did" and we fell for it?

I see you have new plates Rev!

NAH, Just a little photshopping going on, same old plates.... I have yet to decide on a personalized yet.

I am still thinking about that....

That last front pic of you bike looks killer. It's what the screen should have looked like in the first place.
