OH OH, New Battlestar Gallactica Coming!!!

I loved that show and watched it every week.  It only ran for one season, but it seemed like 2-3 seasons.

They had a new series where they found earth, but it was lame.

In this new show, Starbuck and Boomer are Women.

Apparantly not Cap'n... But at least they have Starbuck smoking a cigar and being about as tough as the old one was...So I guess we traded a Man for a Lesbian...May just work.

I actually had to record it last night, didn't get to watch it yet. Beyond the first ten minutes anyway.

Got to see it. First 15 minutes were more akin to soft core porn. the rest seemed to hold up well. Sci Fi Channel played it 3x yesterday!

It was ok, I made my kid leave the room for the first 30 minutes, total BS that they have to put that garbage in the sci fi shows. It had some good spins on the original

but... did it totally blow? You know, all dumbed down for the MTV generation? Thin plot, bad acting glossed over by "The WB" glam fashion models, totally clean computer effects, hip dance sountrack to cover lack of character development, sex in place of sophistication?? Ii'm THIS CLOSE to buying the complete DVD collection of the OLD Battlestar Galactica

Well I am going to reserve judgement until 1900hrs. I missed the second part last night but by and large I am not all that impressed. Over all a fairly well done production but yeah the kissing and the lovin and junk is just sorta silly. It reall has been all pumped up for the Reality TV and MTv crowd which is pretty pathetic...

But so far the effects are pretty cool and it is an interesting turn. The nuking images were pretty cool.

Figures. I ran out and bought the full collectors set thingy of the old one. I decided, nothing new could ever REALLY replace the old version. Woohoo!! It was like a time machine but totally cool on a modern large screen and kicking sound system! I'm 14 again [again]! Um, on a side note, I paid WAY too much at Borders books $120 when I could have Amazoned it for like $85. Also, comments about the set state some come with two disk 6's and no disk 2. So watch for that. I opened mine at the store and they were labeled okay but I haven't gotten to disk 2 yet. Keep the reciept.

alas.... I don't even feel the urge to watch the new one at all now... any show that RELIES on sex to divert your short attention during the first half hour is not worth it to me. I feel the old series had pretty good 'acting' now that I revisited it.

Maybe not GREAT acting, but it fit and seems more heartfelt than a lot of today's empty shows.

Of course, I like the OLD Star Trek over the new also.

Pretty silly to keep flashing boobs in you face, (not that I mind it really) but not necessary in this situation.

Good Sp. effects & updated computer jargon. Fairly predictable, but still enjoyable.

Yes I am taping them, my kids can't stay up till 11:30.

I mean I understand the mini-series concept but WTF? They didn't even go anywhere or do anything... is that flat meaningless ending all we get?

Man...I dunno, I'll still give the show a thumbs up though over all. There were some good special effects...

I think it will be continuing on Sunday, at least that is what the romo on the SciFi channel led me to believe.

Thank God I am not the only one. Which demographic where they going for here. I am all for equal rights but come on. It must be an appeal to those young boys that watched it at 8 or 9 years old Geez Starbuck a woman who the hell came up with that one. Fire that moron. Its to bad too I drove like mad to get home to see it because I loved the original. Even if they wanted they couldnt fix it now. Starbuck was the biggest womanizing badboy on the ship. Now hes female smokin cigars and punchin out the CAG. Not to mention in love with Apollo oh man looks like a show for Lifetime now
