First time an 'in office' President has stated he thinks Israel needs to return land gained during the '67 war and live within the borders that existed prior to it. ::11

This speech given yesterday comes less than 24 hours before the Israeli pm visits Washington for a 'working lunch' followed by a joint statement at 12:15 pm eastern today. Netanyahu is pissed. I wonder if Obama is gonna hold firm or buckle to the lobby and pressure he most certainly has incurred?

I agree that he is on shaky ground, but what really pisses me off is that he is going to pledge 1 billion in debt relief to Egypt to help generate jobs. I wish we could get a little debt relief to help generate jobs here. We need to take care of our own before giving hand outs to others.

If we took ground in any war and someone told.us to give it back,,I'm there might be another war comin....

Idiot. Isreal isn't gonna give up squat until the Palestinians acknowledge Israel's right to exist.

Our relationship with Israel is why half of the world hates us, finally someone is getting smart in Washington! They can stand on their own, we should distance ourselves as much as possible from them, and let God do his biding.

As an American I simply feel it's time we represent an even hand in matters like this.
It's impossible for us to try to achieve peace there when we've already chosen sides and one of those can clearly see this. One side has been held to UN resolutions passed against them and punished for breaking them whilst another has not.

Hamas hasn't....

Isreal doesn't really need the US, they can kick everyone's azz all by themselves...

Keith this is the crux of many problems there. The governing body of the Palestinian people has recognized Israel's right to exist. Hamas is an organization that lives amongst the Palestinians. To fault all for what one group does would be the same as saying all Americans are bad because of the KKK.

I'd agree with that. Just like we Americans are going to get grouped into whatever folly that our President says....at least until we can boot him out of office:please:

I don't believe Isreal is going to change it's stance until hate groups like Hamas are dealt with. There is too much distrust and suspicion on both sides for any real change to occur.

Not trying to cause a ruckus I promise, but I am curious what you think should be done? I can tell you that unemployment benefits have been record highs over the last two or three years. People are being given mortgage modifications, two and three times, lowering payments by thousands of dollars. I think you can only do so much. Personally I don't think any of this aid should have been given. We as Americans don't appreciate anything we are given and 90% of these people receiving aid are pos that will always be indebted with bad credit and living off of the next scam that they can think of. I look at it like this, foreign aid we get back one way or another, aid to these winners here doesn't get us anything else but in debt.

Does anyone else notice the differences between how Obama speaks to the Israelis and how he speaks to the "Palestinians"?

To Israel: "You must..."

To the "Palestinians": "You might consider..."

I've read enough history to know who it was that sided with the Nazis during WWII...and it wasn't the Jews.

Aha... 17 posts until Godwin's number was reached... three ahead of the average!

Here, I'll save y'all some googling time:

Godwin's Number: The average number of replies in a thread before a Nazi reference is made. Generally, Godwin's number is regarded to be twenty, based on the equation: G=(d(Q1)+d(Q2)+...+d(Q)n)/100*n^(-n) where Qn is the intelligence of user n, n is the total number of forum users, and d is a damping function that prevents the intelligence (or lack there of) of one user to influence the others too much.

You obviously don't know what Godwin's Law is. I realise that you think you are being intellectual but you are actually displaying incredible ignorance here.

Godwin's Law is also known as Godwin's Rule of Nazi Analogies...because it is about the probability that the longer an online discussion goes, the greater the likelihood that someone will erroneously attempt to compare someone else's beliefs/actions to those of the Nazis. "As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1 (100%)."

That is not what I was doing, so you Fail right there.

Example of Godwins Law:

Person A) "I don't believe in socialised medicine."

Person B) "You are as bad as the Nazis!"

Not an example of Godwin's Law:

Person A) "The Arabs in the Palestine region sided with the Nazis during WWII."

Person B) "That is historical fact and is relevant to the topic at hand, thus Godwin's Law does not apply."

If I had said, "The Palestinians are as bad as Hitler!", you could have invoked Godwin's Law. But I didn't say that.
Please take the time to know what you are talking about before publicly embarrassing yourself again.
