There are weights at the top, right at the balance point to change the center of gravity.I noticed how the tires, with very little force behind them rolled up the ramp, hitting the next tire in line and then just sat there, they didnt roll back.
Probably why they say it took 606 times to get it right.Exactly. Then when the tire is bumped, the weight is pushed to the right. Now the tire is heavy on that side and will roll to that side, even uphill. And when the weight reaches the bottom of the circle, it would stop. If it were on flat ground, it would roll back and forth a little bit.
It must have been hard to balance the tires on the ramp though. And imagine, the weight has to be just right, the ramp can't be too steep, the tire has to roll uphill hard enough to hit the next one and move it, but the tire still has to stop right after hitting it. Do the math on THAT! How much weight would you have to use if you had a steeper ramp? smaller tires?
