North Carolina Riders

This Saturday, July 17 2004, there is a benefit ride going on in North Carolina.  Granted it is not your typical sport bike ride, in fact it is being sponsored at Ray Price Harley Davidson in Raleigh North Carolina, which means that most of the bikes will be Harleys, but the ride is for a great cause.  Being that I'm a volunteer fireman, and it supports the North Carolina Fallen Firefighters Foundation, that is why I will be there.  I rode in the event last year in Fayetteville, and was the ONLYsport bike to show up.  Maybe by posting it here, I can get some local sport bike riders to come to the event, and it would be great to have other Busa riders show up.  I will post the link to the website, and hopefully will see some on you NC Busa riders there along side.

I'd join you guys, but I'll be out of town. Good luck, and be safe.

Me, a Ninja rider, and a buddy from work on his harley are going to meet at the Thanksgiving Fire Department at 11:00, and then just join the crowd. We will be stopping at Clayton Station 2, then onto Garner Station 1, then arriving at Wake Tech at about 12:00 (est.). From there rumor has it that we will get a Police, Fire Truck escort throught downtown Raleigh to Ray Price. Now as far as I know Zuk, we will be going to the Ray Price in Raleigh, out there on close to South Wilmington Street. It should be a great day, since the poker run will have runners with us, blocking traffic so we can just breeze throught the stop lights. Hope to see you up there.

so wtf is thanksgiving fire dept? Sounds like you guys are missing the actual poker run since that starts at 830a at Ray Price. I have a firefighter buddy up here with a gxr1k, dunno if he'll be able to ride with me or not yet.....so are you in the poker run or just in the parade? man I'm confused

can you drop me a note and let me know whats going on tomorrow. I needa new chain so I'm not sure if I'm gonna ride too much, but the poker run sounds like fun and its a good cause. Are you riding in the poker run or just doing something else with your friends?

the ride from ray price out to wake tech was pretty dang cool.....first time riding with *that* many HD owners and I gotta say they were a lot nicer group then I had expected. There was a whopping 3 sport bikes in our group of 350 bikes

Of course they all managed to swing past my bike and ask the two top questions.... 1)Is it comfortable and 2) How fast you had it?

Once we got riding they asked me to do some road blocking at intersections because they knew I could blow past the main pack and get back to the front to block some more

The only down side I could tell was that Ray Price hadn't accounted for the estimated 1500 bikes that showed up

so when our group got to the dealership, it was without doubt one of the largest Charlie Foxtrots I've EVER seen. Note I've not been to bike week in a while, cuz I KNOW that place (place=whichever bike week event

) is always a monsterous CF!

So I just turned around instead of parking 3 blocks away, in the dirt with 300 HD's and just went and got lunch. Gotta say, the chicken wings were probably a little more tasty than the free hot dog and coke we got for the ride

Drop me a note and let me know if you wanna go riding sometime, gotta check out your new ride some more! Was looking good
