Really, we sent folks to Venezuela who hated us mostly but we cannot send anyone of significance to the UK for a lady that helped make the world a better place and was easily one of our best allies since Churchill :wtf:

Just another sign that our "leaders" really are completely farked in the head and we are going in this direction :flush:

I mean come on, Biden was just there running up millions in hotel bills, Obama was invited and sent no one of any significance really, certainly no one from his administration.:banghead: What an ass

And let me say this is not a slam on the democrats vs republicans. The article does note that many republican folks are going, as did some dems all on their own dime and not as the "official envoy". This is purely a piss poor choice by someone who should know better, appreciate the value of showing up and maintaining our relationships with folks across the pond. He could have easily turned it into an official meeting trip since all the other heads of state were there. I'm sure there's value in him discussing economics with the eurozone leaders. If the euro craps our economy is screwed :banghead:

They did however condone a trip for dennis rodman to vist the north koreans.

Not sayin' he's not a good ambasador,just sayin' he's.........:dunno:

Yep and they won't forget it. You're right she was one of our best allies and a true leader.
I can't believe nobody posted a rip thread here for her either? We have many Brits here?

Anyway just another poor choice by the big O.

And they were too busy putting children on tv using emotional black mail in an effort to take ma gunz for them to care.

food for thought, Thatcher helped bring about the end of the Soviet Union as we knew it for many many years. She helped unify Germany and end the more socialist/marxist controlling parties. hmmm...

nah he wouldn't be so petty as to not show up for it on that fact alone

Poor taste? Absolutley!
No way to treat the one ally we can/could always count on. Friendships have to be maintained.

However, nothing this current administration does will surprise me! :(

I agree. The UK has stood beside and with us more than anyone, and the Obama administration didn't seem to pay much attention. Michelle Bachman and Marsha Blackburn represented the US, two staunch conservatives.

We have been one and one since separation it is amazing to me our president didn't make it a priority to attend it himself.
But like I said he had more important things to speak publicly about.

Keep in mind her and Churchill were anomalies in UK history, they are not our friends, just potential friends when it suits them. That being said I would have sent Lurch or Hilary over just for decorum.

Maybe Obama will make this little slip-up part of his World Apology tour...oh wait, we already had that one didn't we, like, as soon as he took office?

Nothing in gov't surprises me anymore... :banghead:
