No clip master link installation ?

How do you know when you have mushroomed your master link correctly ? I purchased this tool

It suggests that once the tool contracts the link it is about one turn of the tool.
I bought the ZZZ chain which comes with spacers to put between the link body and each outside link plate. One turn doesn't really show much of a difference visually although I had to use the tool to get the outside link plate on. If was a press fit !

As long as it has an edge or lip so the pins can't back out. You can also measure the thickness from outside to outside of each link, the master should be the same as the others.

Make sure you don't compress it too much... measure and look for the mushroomed tip.

Expand it to .222 inches. If it splits its ruined.

Look on the chain makers website and if you have a set of calipers do it like that. Last one I done (ek) they had the recommended flare on there site. Don't wanna over do it, heard you can crack or weaken the pin not to mention damage that over priced tool.

Just don't over do it. I've never had an issue.
