The fittings are not NPT shouldn't there be a little o-ring?
should I thread sealant?

Could be a flare fitting like a brake line, not sure. Never had a reason to remove the fittings on the ones I have lol-call em and ask

Yes sir with any of the NPT threads they will need to get some blue Loctite to help with the sealing of them.

loctite blue will be fine, never use loctite red
