NEWBIE Question

Okay, so I have had a major brain fart... If I have a set of lowering links, do I put it in the outer hole or the closest hole to lower it? I think I put it in the outer hole don't I? Isn't it just the opposite of what it looks like?
I have put 2 or 3 sets on different bikes, but I can't remember. I feel so stupid!

I dont suppose you'd like to let your stock links go fairly cheap would you? I'm wanting to put mine back to stock height for the twisties.

I don't have stock links, but the ones I have on there now can go to stock length. I am only using the second hole.
