Newbie...magneto cover question (need quick answer

fixing some cosmetic damage on the busa and replacing the magneto cover...large amount of oil came out when cover was removed and just wondering if that is normal?
Bike was definately down in the past and that was the scratched side....didn't have chance to see this much oil in other bikes magneto area (few drops maybe) so i just got worried....please help with answers.....bike is 145 miles on the clock...thanks
 
Many factors involved, probably fine.

If the bike was on it's side stand or just recently had the engine running, then you will most likely see more oil come out. If the bike is on a rear stand and hasn't been recently running, then you will most likely see only a few drops.
 
Take great care when you put it back together. Several members that have replaced these covers have experienced leaks for some reason or another.
 
change the gasket. if you did it on the kickstand it's normal. put everything back together and service. GTG
 
The oil is in there for lube. Forget what it's called but the "donut" spins creating a magnetic charge that goes to the coils. The oil lubricates keeps it from gettin to hot. Once you start your bike the oil will replinish itself
