If you were born to be wild about motorcycles, head out on the highway Sunday to the Riverhead Raceway, which makes vroom for the Fourth Annual Long Island Motorcycle Fair, a festival of choppers, chainsaws and challenges.

"It's a motorcycle theme, just put to a fair setting," says Dennis Moeser, head of East End Productions, organizer of the event with sponsor Maximum Motorsports of Riverhead.

At this fair, though, don't expect attractions such as weight-guessing or dunking booths. Here the events are decidedly more of the hairy-chested variety, including motorcycle-stunt challenges and sculpting logs using chainsaws.

"There'll be urban street riders and underground riders in competition. They're all competing for cash, trophies and bragging rights. They're the best of the best, and they're coming from all around the country," Moeser says. "And there's the ambience of Riverhead Raceway, which is really strong because it's one of the oldest existing racecar tracks."

In addition to stunts and rows of cycles throughout the raceway, there will also be various themed tents, including star attraction Freddy from "The Howard Stern Show," who will be performing with his band, King Norris; an adult-themed tent for ages 18 and older; and hundreds of vendors hawking wares from motorcycle helmets to cigars.

On the cuisine front, those hog riders are going whole hog with a pig roast, Moeser says. For less adventurous appetites, foods from popcorn to pizza will be sold.

There will also be a couple of events to get cycle buffs revved up for Sunday's fair, starting with a cycle-stunt halftime show at Saturday night's monster truck show at the raceway. Gates open at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 8. Following that event, there will be a hospitality night at Turtle Bay in East Quogue, featuring motorcycle displays, food, drinks and local DJs. Admission is $10, but since the event is also being touted as "Leather and Lace Night," admission is free to anyone dressed in either material.

"It gets everyone in the mood for Sunday, and it's also an end-of-the-summer gathering," Moeser says. "It gives everyone one last taste of the Hamptons before everyone goes home."
