New Year, New Ride

Hi all. My lovely wife let me get a new truck for Christmas, and yesterday I finally got a chance to break it in right. I took it over the Cherohala Skyway into Robbinsville for lunch, then back across for good measure. It was a great day. The weather was clear and about 13F on top. Anyway, I thought I'd share a few pics...

I took the truck to visit GeorgiaGixxer08 this morning and got her all cleaned up again. Better than when I took delivery, actually. He did a great job with it.

Funny you mention that. Here's my last truck...



I loved that thing, but between the electrical system and the drivetrain, it seemed like there was ALWAYS something wrong with it.

Early in 2008 we got a new fleet of trucks at the nuke plant. Half of them F-Series and half Silverado. Those trucks ran for 20+ hours a day, usually in rough or off-road conditions. Once they got to be about a year old, the differences in quality had become obvious. The Chevys clunked, clattered, and rattled. The Fords... didn't. That was when I began to change my opinions about Ford trucks.

I was a GM guy for 40 years. My last two trucks have been Fords and I don't think I'll ever go back to GM.

Great pics and nice truck. I also converted from GM about 10 years ago and don't think I'll go back. 187,000 miles on my '04 and still running strong.
