I thought so. I’m just 8 miles from the south end of 49 and weather permitting I’m planning a trip to cover every winding mile of hiway 49 ending up SE of Lassen NP near Nevada. Haven’t figured which way to circle back or, to maybe head up thru Lassen to Crater Lake NP in Oregon...and then, why not head over thru Grant’s Pass to the California coast just north of Crescent City and hiway 101....and then. Spring is near and summer’s comin! Hers a shot of 49 near me.
