Which is why we as a people need to get liberals out of office. Liberals make up all these laws and PC policies.

C'mon guys, if a kid were to paintball one of these POS devices, they would serve time in Juvie, have a felony on their criminal record, serve hundreds of hours of community service, and not be allowed to vote or carry a weapon or enlist in our armed forces. This isn't the days of old where a kid can be a kid, hell, a six year old was recently sued for running her tricycle into the leg of an old lady. That suit was upheld by a judge.

Long live socialist America.

I am all for taking these things out though. How many would you have to egg/paintball/emp/run over before the state gets the hint (or stops put'n 'em up)?

yup i saw that as well!!! those cameras have been here for at least 2 years or more in the omaha council bluffs area. Yes they do catch speeders as well as red light runners. Our whole interstate system around the area has them as well. They get plate and speed and seatbelt violators as well. They are a complete injustice. What if i loan my car to someone and they speed or run a red? Am i now liable and responsible for thier decisionds as well?

You are kidding right? Remind me never to go to Iowa! This stuff is just getting ridiculous. We are SUPPOSED to be a country that prides ourselves on freedoms, yet everyday, I am reminded of the laws passed to protect us from.... OURSELVES.. Jesus baby Christ on a cross, this is getting out of hand. I guess the BILLIONS, yes, BILLIONS they already make on traffic violations isn't enough. Or wait..is it the insurance companies that make the Billions in extra revenue from traffic violations..

Anyhow.. I am fairly certain...fairly.. That they actually require a picture of the driver in the vehicle along with your license plate. If they cannot get both of these items, they cannot ticket you because they don't know that it was you. On the flip side of that, I wonder how that goes with a biker that runs from a police officer? Unless they get my plate, how can they undeniable prove that the white Busa they seen going 180mph wasn't someone elses??

As for the post above, liberals or conservatives, I don't think it would make a difference. These laws weren't just "snuck" in by them liberal commies, believe me, the republican coffers got stuffed for x-mas too. That is another issue with this country, we are picking the lesser of two evils. TWO EVILS...

While there is a clear potential for abuse or misidentification, the underlying premise is don't break the law and your fine. If these things are going to ticket 2 mph over, then yea I have an issue, or if bumper to bumper traffic sets of tailgating then yea I have an issue.

But if this stops someone from riding my ass or driving like a prick when there isn't a cop around, then by all means.

Freedom doesn't mean you get to go around in public violating the law and endangering yourself and others. If these things can do a cops job then go for it.

they dont have to get your picture of you in the car......i got a red light ticket as it was wet out and i slide into the intersection in my car and i was mailed the ticket with the pics and i wasnt in any of the pics. It was just the fron tand rear of my car witgh the plate number highlighted and the speed i was traveling in the picture as well. I obviously fought it in court and won. But still...the point is they had no proof it was me or anything. But becuase it was my car i had to be responsible for it.

Funny thing is the council bluffs pd doesnt even handle the tickets. The company who installed the stupid lights does and keeps a portion of the fines they collect as profit and payment for installing the cameras.

If you think about it it's cheaper to drive in Florida without a tag on your motor vehicle than anything else. Not even a violation if you report it lost or stolen and it's 5 dollars to get the replacement with a case number... I have had my tag stolen twice
