Hi there we are stating a new class of racing over here in Australia any info would help.
Here are the rules we have set for the new class.
Please tell me what you think?

Drag Combat. No-Bar Motorcycle competition.

STREETBIKE. - D.Y.O. Format with Full tree for late model factory sportsbikes and cruisers. Street Registered - OR - ANDRA tech inspection reqd. ANDRA safety regulations apply. Bikes quicker than 10.5 require ANDRA tech inspection, licence and logbook. Bikes qualifying quicker than 9.5sec may be encouraged to run in Streetbike Shootout.

STREETBIKE SHOOTOUT. - Heads-up Format with Pro Tree for Bikes with proven 9 second capability. ANDRA tech inspection, Licence and Log Book required. Run Chicago Shootout or 8 bike eliminator. (See Alternative Finals formats) Bikes failing to Qualify for the finals can run in Streetbike.

All Bikes in both classes must remain "Streetable" (See definition below), Must use motorcycle tyres or slicks with 7" maximum rim width. Engine mods unlimited. Air shifters and lock-up clutches allowed. Wheelbase open. Must have working suspension Front and Rear. Ground clearance must be sufficient to prevent the sump grounding, when the suspension is fully compressed. (e.g. coming down from a wheelie or squatting off the line.) ANDRA approved fuels only. (use of illegal fuels e.g. Propylyne Oxide will incur fines and indefinate ban.)

STREETABLE - Capable of being ridden in a manner required for street use. Must self start and be able to negotiate the pit areas, staging lanes and return roads unassisted. Mirrors and indicators may be removed. Aftermarket bodywork allowed. Appearance may be "stretched and slammed" (longer and lower), but must resemble stock lines. Must have working lights front and rear.

The following are PROHIBITED in both classes.

ALTERNATIVE FINALS FORMATS - Streetbike Shootout.

1. Standard eliminator. 8 bike qualified field, after 3 qualifiers. Suitable when there is a large field of bikes entered.

2. Chicago Shootout - (round robin). 1 or 2 Qualifiers followed by 1 race against each/most of the other competitors with prize money split and paid per race win. Suitable for small fields (less than 8) to facilitate a bigger show for the fans and allow all racers a shot at some prizemoney. Pairings seeded to bring fastest qualifiers together last.

IMPORTANT NOTE - RE STREETBIKE SHOOTOUT.

Drag Combat Organisers have kept the rules as open as possible, to include all No-Bar bikes currently racing at street meets and in Modified Bike. The Following should be understood by current competitors and those building new combinations.

Car classes are attracting international competitors by aligning their rules with those overseas.
With this in mind riders are urged to familiarise themselves with AMA PROSTAR rules for STREETBIKE SHOOTOUT, as a guide to where this class is heading in the future. The main points being the following:- Mainly for late model EFI equipped factory superbikes displaying make and model on both sides. 68" wheelbase with working suspension F&R, OEM Frame (Max 5 degree rake), 1 power adder (no turbo/Nitrous), No alcohol fuels, D.O.T. street tyre (MCR2), Bikes completing a 16k road course behind a pace vehicle after which they must be able to be re-started unassisted. More comprehensive details can be found on amaprostar.com . The time frame for this shift is 2 years, and those not wishing to make the changes will still be eligeable for D.Y.O. Streetbike class.
