New 08 or almost new 07??

I am going to say go with the 07.  The dude doesn't have the title at all?  Or the bank has it and you have to go through the sales process?

You simply need to figure out what is important to you.  If you are really willing to consider the 4k difference (it was 8k used or 11k new, right)?  Then that means you really want the 08.  But don't forget to add in taxes and fees to that (which will all be less on the 07).

Now here is my thought, personally.  I am a HUGE fan of used vehicles.  I will let someone else take the depreciation on it (assuming that I can have it inspected) and I will save a boatload of cash.  Or if you really need the glory... the difference in the two is just about the speculated cost of a 1397 kit (I think it's close to 3k for the kit).

So me personally?  I will buy up the 07 (assuming that he has the title, and that you can ensure that it is mechanically sound), and use the cash to bling the hell out of it.  If you are financing the whole thing and not paying cash, then just pony up for the 08.

I have the funds to buy the 07 outright (I'd have to finance part of the 08 cost possibly) and the guy is willing to take a deposit until he gets the title and then wants the rest. I just dont wanna buy an 07 and then see 08s on the road and regret it. <sigh> what a dilemma. You guys are making good arguments for both sides of the coin.

Honestly if it was me I would wait till the 08 was out for a year then pick up a used one and save a bundle

I wanted a 14 when they came out, but I waited a year and picked up a used 06 with 1680 miles on it for $7300. I got a basically new bike for wayyyy less then the 12.5 the first owner paid

This strategy takes patience...but I also had (and still have) a busa to ride during the wait

But if you REALLY want the 08 and you can afford it, especially if its only a partial finance, then the pleasure of owning it might balance out the extra expense

If you have the money in hand for the 07 I'd buy the 08 in a heart beat! Going to be smoking fast and all the little details have been fixed by team Suzuki!
The Hayabusa is a Icon and what better way to start a new bike out then on the latest, greatest machine!
Here's food for thought!  If you do get an 07 I'm sure the guy who buys your 08
will still have some room left in his/her rearview mirror for u & some zx14's

All kidding aside whichever route you take I'm sure it'll work out.

07 would be my choice ( if I could only buy one ) I would have to do 08 because she would want another one also.............

I'm not sure why hes selling that cheap, but this is the 3rd deal I've seen for a low mileage 07 in the northeast. Ive passed on the other two and am seriously mulling this one over.

I think they are going for cheap because the owners just want to get a "new" model busa and can afford to write off the loss. I've seen it done with cars and bikes. When you have disposable income you can afford to keep up with the latest trends ...or so I've heard

I have a feeling you are right, but it makes my decision that much more difficult....
