Neutral downhill

You top over a long hill and can see a series of easy sweepers... Do you:

1 - Tuck and go for it?

or

2 - Pop it in Neutral, sit up and no hand it down as far as you can go, using only the back brake to control your speed?

I do #2.

Here is where I normally do this:

Nice, myself I would probably do #1 but only to where I would be in my lane and not cross. I have nothing like that here.

#2 - but i keep two fingers on the throttle grip. Just barely touching.

:-) I did it on hwy120 out the east side of Yosemite a couple of years back on my ST1100. I was hands on but passing cars at 70+ with the engine in neutral. I had started from a one step and feet on pegs.

It's a blast if you have a long hill to coast down.

In the above picture there is a 180 turn I do in Neutral and no hands at about 40 mph... It give you a real feel for the bike that you cannot get any other way.

I also engage the throttle lock and cruise down the highway the same way... Just knees and body shifting.

We've done races in neutral with the bike off. Best aero and the heaviest usually wins
