When racing on a the old air strip, I would like to switch off all my lights so the ones I give a head start can't judge where I am. Anyone know which wire or the know how would do the trick?
Take a test light and find out which is high beam, which is low beam off the headlight bucket plug or whatever is hooked to the bulb. You then take a toggle and place it between the low beam wire off that harness that is plugged in the back of the sealed beam.
Build a long toggle wire harness so the toggle is near your thumb area and the two ends of the wire harness are spit between the low beam wire and there you go is you snake in the grass!
you can press the start button that will turn them off, but dont hold it in when engaging the clutch or the starter will actually start to run....an easy fix may be to pull 1 led from the clutch switch then you can press the start button to turn out the lights, when you release the button the lights will come back on, you will have to put the wire back on ofcourse to start your bike next time
I have not tested this theory other then to flash them momentarily
I did that on my Gen1, if someone can post up a Gen2 wiring diagram, I can let you know which wire it cut the switch into. On th eGen1, the low beam is separate from teh rest of the lights, don't know about the Gen2.
On the Gen 2, the Low and High beam are on separate fuses. Just pull them?
Your running lights and tail lights are on the same fuse as the entire gauge cluster, so you will have to unplug the two connectors for those (one behind the gauge cluster, and one in the rear hump area).
On the Gen1, you need to pull the inner fairing to get to the fuses. So much easier to just flip a switch to turn them off, then flip it again when you want them back on.
