Need help testing 03 GSXR 600 stator

So who knows how to do a test on the stator on a 03 gsxr 600? It is on my brothers bike, sometimes it starts and and runs great and and then sometimes you can shut it off and it won't start for a little bit, and sometimes you can be riding if and if might just die and then start up in a few minutes. Any ideas from someone that knows something about the electrical system on one?

I used the clymer manual to test the stator on the Busa not sure if its the same for the little brother

Something that came to mind is the kill switch on the kick stand and right bar. I had a 03 600 for a while, and some would report issues with the stand kill switch getting dirty and flaking out from time to time. You can get the manual online similar to how we have the one for the Hayabusa linked. I don't have it anymore or I would send it to you.
