I'm working on a pretty deep project. I need to incorporate lyrics from some songs. These lyrics dont have to be from the most popular songs or artists, just have some true meaning. I want to limit to short phrases, I dont need the whole song. Show me what inspires you in music, tell me what song/artist it is from. I know there are a ton of music fans here and you guys will come up with some awsome stuff!

:guitar:

"oh me so horny me love you long time, sitting at home with my d*** up hard"
Two Live Crew I can get you more or even the rest of the lyrics. posted youtube I removed it just in case, forgot some people may think its offensive

So then I went and bought myself a Colt 45
Called a peacemaker but I never knew why
I never knew why, I didn't understand
Mama says the pistol is the devil's right hand

Devil's Right Hand / Steve Earle

I'm not a "guy" but this is one I connect with on a deeper level... (I've only included my favorite lyrics)

She never mentions the word addiction
In certain company
Yes, shell tell you shes an orphan
After you meet her family

Yeah, she gives a smile when the pain comes,
The pains gonna make everything alright

She wears a cross around her neck
And the cross is someone she has not met, not yet

She Talks to Angels by the Black Crowes

Give me a chance to shine and ima blind the world
Take a stand and be the voice of those who cannot be heard

DJ DJ by the Transplants

Teenage waste land! Can't remember the band though. But the song kind of reminds you of what our youth is having to deal with in today's society.

I've been crawling on my belly
Clearing out what could've been.
I've been wallowing in my own confused
And insecure delusions
For a piece to cross me over
Or a word to guide me in.
I wanna feel the changes coming down.
I wanna know what I've been hiding in

Tool - Forty-Six & 2

I hurt myself today
To see if I still feel
I focus on the pain
The only thing that's real
The needle tears a hole
The old familiar sting
Try to kill it all away
But I remember everything

Hurt by NIN, but I love the Johnny Cash version.

Good ones there! Keep it up Jules, I love the Black Crowes stuff. I was also thinking along the lines of songs/groups that changed music forever. Beatles, Led Zepplin, Metallica, Hendrix all come to mind. I wouldnt be against stuff I'm not really into like Bob Marley, Johnny Cash and others. Also would like stuff from different eras, 50's to the Present. Elvis Maybe?

For me it'd be

Volver a amar una vez mas
nacer de nuevo en ti
en tu mirar
llenando con tu luz
las sombras de mi soledad

Volver a Amar
by Christian Castro

(in english)
Back to love again
born again in you
on your watch
fill with your light
the shadows of my loneliness

My wife is Peruvian so it holds some meaning for us

And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
'Cos I find it hard to take
When people run in circles
It's a very, very
Mad World

Mad world

Flyleaf: Cassie (acoustic version)

The question asked in order to save her life or take it
The answer no avoided death and yes would make it

Do you believe in God?'
Written on the bullet
Say yes to pull the trigger
And my Sister Cassie pulled it

They didn't love their live so much
As to shrink from death
Inspired in their footsteps
We will march ahead
Don't be shocked that people die
Be surprised you're still alive

Kind of a sad song but I like the lyrics.

Come if you will
Just dont question my direction
