Well ... It happened to me.. checking an unknown email last nite and suddenly the pc went crazy and show the pics of FBI cyber crime and locked up... It says that u have to pay so much money to few places like Walmart or walgreens in 3 days other wise they will come and arrest u.. well got worried first but then I

Google it from my Android phone and found it is a scam..
Try to go safety mode and use AntiVirus to clear it but it locks me on safety mode too and won't let me get to it and sends me back to regular mode:banghead:[SUP][/SUP]

Did a research a little bit and the solution is to take it to.places like best buy or at home through Microsoft tech support through the phone call and it gets corrected.. cost between 200 to 300 dollars..
Has anyone had to deal with these SOB??

I'm not falling for that. Get ate up just goggling the crap  I got hit hard a couple weeks ago. My stuff caught and deleted twelve malicious items. I still had to go in and uninstall three items, and still have another item I can't get rid of that's aggravating the piss out of me, has basically ruined my youtube experience, but I'm hoping one of the gurus can resolve this by the fire pit

Best of luck. Some people restore their machines, others completely reformat there drives. I've never paid over $35 to have a pro take care of an ill machine.

Do you back up your PC ?

I am not going to pay that much money.. I just don't have time to mess with it with work and other personal things...
It is not a hard fix if I knew what to do other than safety mode..
And that is why these people try to rip u off

That's how the scam works - they are telling you to call someone...but you're calling the scammer.

Try downloading something like these:

Trend Micro Rescue Disk

Trend Micro Rescue Disk

Kaspersky Rescue Disk

Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10

Both of the above - you will download the ISO and then burn it to a CD. Then you boot your PC with the CD. This bypasses the infected OS on the hard drive and is able to scan it and remove the malware. Make sure - after you boot the CD - that you update the definitions - I think you're prompted to do that...

BTW - the above downloads are FREE and from reputable antivirus/antimalware vendors

Yeah, not really true anymore. MAC Viruses are on the rise...ever since we lost Steve Jobs.
had my MAC for 3 years now. plenty of porn.... and websites from all over the globe and not one virus, spyware or malware. not one! and I run my MAC keeper once a month. I cud not go more then a week without a virus or some sort of spy or malware fukn up my junk windows PC.

u could not give me a brand new windows PC ever again.

Usually the main reason MAC doesn't get targeted with viruses isn't because it's more secure, it's because there isn't a big enough target for most peeps writing them. Keep telling people to go MAC and make yourself a bigger commodity. See where that will land you. MAC users are starting to feel the crunch.

Put your hard drive in another machine and do a full format. Then put it back in your machine and reinstall windows. You will lose all your files on that drive but you wont have the issue anymore. And by the way stop trying to download Jessica Alba porn, It doesnt exist.

When mac's became popular around here they cost way more than a PC. So every Jolt cola drinkin',pimple faced jerk, who was living in his mom's basement had easy access to a PC and spent all of his "angry at the world" time writing virus's for PC's. Just Rubb's 2 cents.

RSD.

If he already has a windows install disc, then he should be able to reformat and reinstall windows without taking out the HD.

Insert windows disc. Follow the options and it should lead you to the format stage.

You will lose all information on your hard drive. But you will be 100% sure you are rid of the virus.

Total cost= $0.00

If don't have a windows disc, then places like newegg.com sells OS's for under $100. OEM OS is fine. Only real difference between retail and OEM is the box and book. They both load the same windows onto your computer.

I would suggest going with a 64bit OS over 32 bit.

Newegg.com - Software, Operating Systems, Free Shipping, $75 - $100

That's what my brother in law does. That's why I ask if he backs his machine up.
