Music today is horrible.

I am laughing at my friends. They always gave me a hard time because of the dance music I have been listening to for years. Then when they say, "Listen to this great new song." More often then not it is yet another baby step to the eruo beat I have had on mp3 to for years.

I do agree some "artists" are just studio creations. Can anyone say Cobra Starship?

A lot of the eruo beat artist can sing, ie
Milk Ink

Sylver

But Kate Ryan doesn't fall in that catigory, But she is still HOT.

Back to Captain's 70's thread! We grew up with the best bands, best music of all times. I know times change but yea, today's music, not for me...

Lots of good music out there still, just gotta look harder for it. Most popular music today is junk, don't even get me started on what rap has become.
I been listening to dubstep alot for a couple years now, and have always enjoyed 70s and 80s music. Pandora and XM are my friends.

I dont get the "new" rap crap where almost the entire song is repeating one short sentence or word. My son loves it and Im like WTF! I am pretty open to music but some of this stuff is just damn nerve rattling.

Kinda eerie, but I dig it:

This cat is a mash-up master, Black Sabbath and Ludacris???

I used to think I was getting old starting around 1995. I really despised the whining ritalin-retard crap from the likes of nirvana or smashing pumpkins. Wahhh feel sorry for me because I'm a rat trapped in a cage...I'm a loser because of what society has done to me.
At 41 I'm actually starting to like some of the new music. Black Eye Peas and LMFAO are on my Pandora playlist along with Pink Floyd, Beatles, Stones, Beastie Boys, Twisted Sister, Sigue Sigue Sputnik, Kraftwerk etc. I really like Pandora because I can experience a genre of music without specific titles that have been played to death on the radio.

I'm beginning to hate the 80s music I used to love and once again it's because of the played to death scenario. That decade of music won't die on radio stations...it's 30 years of the same music over and over again. No different than eating your favorite food everyday until you can't stand the sight or smell of it. The playlists on many classic rock stations are no better. Does the older generation really enjoy hearing Sweet Home Alabama and Gimme Three Steps 5 times a day every day....or is there a whole new generation that's hearing it for the first time and liking it? Oddly those stations rarely play Beatles or Floyd anymore which is a good thing imo as it's actually nice to hear the songs when they do play.

I listen to a lot of I heart radio on my droid phone... If you like the 80's music try a station called The Brew in OKC.

Not Duran Duran or Flock of Seaguls 80's but Van Halen, Boston, Cars, Kansas, 38 Special

For the most part I listen to older rock. A Black Sabbath reunion sounds like a winner to me.
I cant remember who for certain that Blackfoot opened for..Dio maybe..anyway it was an awesome performance..the best of the three that night

ETA- I thought KDKB was ok for radio..when I was down there a few months ago
