Movie Review: Get Hard & Furious 7

Get Hard: I saw this movie a couple weeks ago and I am still laughing. IMHO, this is easily the funniest movie I have seen in years and some of the comedy was actually inventive and ground breaking. That said it was the same juvenile slapstick humor I enjoyed so much in Hot Tub 2. Will Ferrell and Kevin Hart have a comedic chemistry I didn't expect. Will seems to be able to slow Hart down a bit, as he usually is so spastic that I get a headache! This move has all the usual gutter jokes about prison life but takes it to a level yet unseen in a mass release movie and watching the shock in the theater is part of the fun. At one scene I was laughing until I cried and the lady next to me was gathering her children and herding them out of the movie. That is why they rate them you know... So just to prove how funny this movie really is, all of the nude scenes are Will Ferrell. Even funnier is that this guy didn't even bother to get in shape, he just let it rip! Lol!. So, very vulgar, and stupid, I give it 33.5 stars!

Furious 7: Well F&F is to action what Ron Jeremy is to porn! And like a good porn movie the action starts before the credits and only stops at the end long enough to say good bye to Paul Walker. The stunts in this movie are crazy, over the top and so out there that there is a lot of CG in this latest offering in the series. Still, it's inventive and entertaining. The movie is tongue in cheek as always and very intense. The characters are solid and everyone comes in on cue. The girls are also stunning. It's always been interesting how F&F brings out some amazing women of races not usually represented as leading ladies. BTW, I am a big Michelle Rodriguez fan and she looks good as every. I think she is the toughest woman on screen since Linda Hamilton in Terminator. So the stunts are crazy and most unsurvivable by humans yet you are still on the tip of your seat through it all and sweating a bit when it's all done. I will admit to loving all the F & F movies. Somehow they manage to bring art down to an action thriller's level. Who can deny the beauty of the gang drifting through the Japanese mountains in Tokyo Drift? So, 4 stars from me!

I just like the title of this thread...

Reminds me of all my first wedding nights...

RSD.

We saw Get Hard last night and loved it! Some of those scenes

I hadn't seen FnF 6 until tonight, so now we can go see #7...gotta say it's the only franchise of movies where I've seen the entire series when they had more than 3

I haven't seen a F&F movie since the 3rd one. Not that I don't like them, just that I have too many little kids bogarting the TV and all I get to watch is children's crap. By the time they go to be I'm pooped and the few times we do get to go out to the movies in forced to watch her crap like 50 shades. I do want to see Get Hard though

Don't let the kids anywhere near Get Hard!

I thought about taking my boys over the weekend; soooooooo happy I didn't! My 14 year old would have laughed and probably wished he hadn't watched it with Mom, but the 12 year old? Ummm, no thanks

Omar and I were in tears when Will was in the bathroom, on his knees  He is so funny in everything he does because he commits to the role, every bit of it, no matter what it is

It's funny that he did those nude scenes too. Didn't work out or go to the tanning salon, just Will Ferrell's natural rear end, love handles and all on the big screen.

That's what I love about him...way back to his days on SNL and that cowbell scene with Christopher Walken, Will had that shirt on that was way too small, belly hanging out, muffin top, didn't care. That was the funniest part about the bit to me, his complete commitment to his "role" as "guy with cowbell"
